New Jersey born "Blue One Thirty" has been drawing since she could hold a crayon. Her art is heavily influenced from a graffiti background, her families Puerto Rican/Dominican roots, and her love of comic books, pin up art, horror icons, storybooks, and music. After pursuing a music career in New Jersey, she fell in love with art again during a tattoo apprenticeship in Bloomfield, NJ and from attending Dr. Sketchy’s in Manhattan. After a series of fortunate events, she moved to Katy 2 years ago and began showing art in the Houston area. Her illustrative art often incorporates textile elements, layered cutouts, and anything her imagination cooks up.
Blue is currently a curator/event coordinator with East End Studio Gallery, and the Program Director for the Houston Institute of Culture, a non profit organization.
She and her shows have been been featured in various online publications, such as the Houston Chronicle and Houston Press. She was named as one of the Houston Press top 100 Creatives. Blue's work has been published in Tip Out Magazine and Glam Rock Magazine.
